Als wir am 18. Tag nach Scotts Bluff im Bundesstaat Nebraska kamen war es nur einen Steinwurf zum National Mounment Nebraska mit dem alten Oregon Trail. \u00dcber diesen Oregon Trail verlief die erste Siedler und sp\u00e4ter auch Handelsroute \u00fcber die Rocky Mountains im Rahmen der Besiedelung des Westens der Vereinigten Staaten. Um die Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts zogen Pioniere aus den damals besiedelten Teilen im Osten und der Mitte der USA rund 3.500 km (2.200 Meilen) in Planwagen durch die Steppen, W\u00fcsten und Berge, um neue Regionen im Pazifischen Nordwesten zu besiedeln. Gro\u00dfe Teile der Route wurden auch f\u00fcr Trecks in andere Teile des Westens genutzt.<\/p>\n
