Heute ging\u2019s fr\u00fch los. Das Tagesziel sind die Kaskaden und der Mount St. Helens. Als erstes ging es als von Seattle \u00fcber die Interstate 5 und den Highway 410 in Richtung Mount Rainier. Leider mussten wir auf der Stichstrasse in Richtung Mount St. Helens umkehren, da die Strasse kurzfristig gesperrt wurde und das etwa 25 Km vor dem Ziel. Die Fotos und der Trail blieben logischerweise aus. Daf\u00fcr wurden wir im Mount Rainier NP mehr als verw\u00f6hnt mit sch\u00f6nem Wetter und wunderbaren Landschaften.<\/p>\n

Der Mount Rainier ist ein Schichtvulkan und Zentrum des Mount-Rainier-Nationalparks 87 km s\u00fcd\u00f6stlich von Seattle in Pierce County, US-Bundesstaat Washington. Mit 4.392 Metern ist er der h\u00f6chste Gipfel der Kaskadenkette und des Bundesstaats Washington. Die heute den Mount Rainier bedeckenden Gletscher bilden mit einer Fl\u00e4che von \u00fcber 90 Quadratkilometern das gr\u00f6\u00dfte zusammenh\u00e4ngende Gebiet eines einzelnen Berges der USA au\u00dferhalb Alaskas.<\/p>\n
